AmaliaAstonished. Your film Leviathan is great. I feel so moved that cannot sleep. My best friend Marina Velikotny, who by the way, found out that is your relative, told me about Leviathan time ago, but I had no time to see it at the cinemas in Buenos Aires. Yesterday I got the dvd. Hope to havethe chance to appreciate the beautiful images in the large screen one day. Meantime I?ll try to find some of your other films. Last but not least, the actors are wonderful, specially Kolya. My best regards from Argentina. -

Kirill NovakHello, Andrey.
Thank you for the film Leviathan. I found an answer to my question, lot of time reading Bible I don't understand Humility correctly, especially conflict between Power and React to Power. So then answer was in, while I watching the film finally it comes - both (Kolya and Vadim) are humiliated. One going through having power, another one going through losing. But both goes through it.
Also Leviathan is one of the rared films exploring ways to overcoming Chaos(Leviathan, Entropy). Lot of times reviewed in my mind scene: Roma siting on skeleton understanding illusions about his father. There is no easy way.

ValentinaDear Andrey,
There are so many messages to you with compliments, that there is no point for me to repeat all. But still I want to thank you for your art, which brings us such a pleasure in sense of cinematography, not to say about how many thoughts, debates it provokes. I'm Russian myself, but I've never seen this kind of Russia. I was guessing it exists somewhere. But most important for me, that you showed "leviathan" as I understand. Even it could be summary of few factors. Because different people understand differently and see who is Leviathan differently. I think you're very brave man. I talked today to my teacher of Italian and found out that she watched your movies twice. She loves it. For her it's not depressing. Congratulations! -

Marcus MaherHi Andrey
Ever since I saw 'The Return' I knew then here was a director of great standing. The film itself is a masterpiece only eclipsed by Tarkovsky or an Elim Klimov, the subtle and the sublime Andrey makes the work almost ephereal, at times I thought the father was a spirit sent back to test the boys-to ask questions and resolve the pain of absence, a journey into how you can lose that which you never had, but cherish the small moments, the boys get a glimpse of love and it is fleeting. Andrey I would love you to talk to you about such themes, maybe soon we will-hopefully we'll cross paths and I am thinking of you for my Irish epic, because this is the cinema (Elena/Leviathan) the world needs, truthful, honest storytelling, with heart and meaning, take care Andrey. -

R.M.Dear Andrey, I viewed LEVIATHAN a few months ago; and saw ELENA last night - it's haunting. I enjoyed both films for a variety of reasons. I'm very impressed with your work addressing the fragile, complicated aspects of the human condition with such truthfulness. It's incredibly perceptive and poignant work. The world needs more story tellers like you - I hope that our work paths cross in the future! You have a very bright road ahead. All my best! Xx -

AM Khan YazdaniHello Mr. Andrey Zvyagintsev,
Last night I have watched your movie ‘Leviathan’. It was so beautifully portrayed on the celluloid. I have been carried out with the characters of Kolya and Lilia and they are still haunting me. I have no words to express my emotions.
Though your story is set up in Russia, the confrontation it dealt with has a universal appeal. In India, where I am from, a stormy resentment is being brewing against the recently promulgated Land Acquisition Ordinance. Its antipathy towards farmers will lead to miseries of numerous Kolyas and Lilias in nearest future. [...] -

LyudmilaThe film "Leviathan" is great and precious for me as it depicts the life in most Russian far away places which I know well. Thank you for the waves and roaring the theme. Although the translation for Hollywood might have been done better.
